LK, Proxy and I attended some obedience trials in the rain. She flunked both Utility classes, one due to
thinking too much and one due
to training at Prado the day before. She Q'd with good scores in both Open
classes, once for Second and once for Third, but no points either day.
We were supposed to go back another day but the weather was even worse on Sunday so we skipped it.
Next we went to Bakersfield for a match on Friday, and then down to Fillmore for a couple of ASCA trials
on Saturday.
Proxy earned two legs on her ASCA CD both with Second place, and Teaz Q'd in Pre Novice -
with First but she was the only entry. ;-)
It was hot & muggy in Bakersfield and cold & drizzly in Fillmore, so we were really glad to get home!
Next up was hunt tests at Prado. It poured rain the day before, so the herons were out in the front field
hunting.
Wild radish.
Saturday, Proxy passed Senior for her first leg; Teaz had, er, issues with there being gunners in the field...
I saw this duck on the Big Lake - it is apparently a Bufflehead.
On Sunday, Proxy passed Senior again for her second leg! Teaz did better with her issues... ;-)
Next was shows and obedience trials in Vallejo. On the way up, a ground squirrel kept trying to get
Proxy to chase it, and I was a bother to a starling in a rest area.
The first day, Proxy won Second in Open B for 2 OTCh points, and Teaz was WB for two more points plus
she earned her second BN leg with Second place.
The next day, Proxy flunked both classes and Teaz was RWB, but she saved the day by finishing her BN with First place.
On the way home, I took pictures of this plant full of seed pods, and swallows' nests on an overpass. You can see a couple
of the birds peeking out of their nests.
